A pretty crazy lightning storm rolled into Sherman a few hours ago. Grabbed my camera headed to the nearest high point (the football field) and started shooting. This was my favorite shot. I got drenched leaving, but I got an awesome shot (in my opinion anyway, this is my first lightning storm shoot so hopefully I’ll have more opportunities to get better) and I didn’t get struck by lightning.
I am an avid fan of motorsport and it saddens me to say that the sport lost a great driver during a race yesterday in Dan Wheldon. Thoughts and well wishes are with his family. Wheldon was a two-time winner of the Indy 500. Here’s to hoping that the IRL and motorsport in general can find more ways to better protect their drivers.

This is a shot I grabbed of the Belvedere Torso in the Vatican. It’s my favorite angle to look at it from. I think it provides the best image of how much the sculpture has been damaged.
I changed themes. I feel like this looks more organized. There was just something that felt off about the last one… Anyways, try not to freak out all two of you. I think it’s two? Oh, nope, it’s three actually. It doesn’t really matter to me, as long as my photos are out there for people to enjoy. I’ll have something new up probably tomorrow at the latest. I know, I’ve been slacking, but the past week has been killer as far as school. I’ll see if I can’t dig something up… I’m at home and left my external at school by accident (along with my racing helmet, woops) so I’m without the vast majority of my photos. So scroll through again and remember how awesome that one photo is. Or maybe message me about your favorite? Have a good weekend everyone, try not to leave too many Heinekens on the stairs.

It’s been a few days since I’ve uploaded anything, so now it’s Friday and we all know what that means… I thought this was appropriate. Taken on the Spanish Steps in Rome.
This was some graffiti art outside of a hookah cafe in Auckland. That was a particularly good night. I took this sometime in May on one of the first nights of my trip to New Zealand and Australia. A group of us had gone to a burger joint called Murder Burger. It’s absolutely delicious, if you find yourself in Auckland I highly recommend it. The atmosphere is awesome too, if you’re a punk rock fan. The group split up and several went to this hookah bar and the rest of us found a small pub where we had a drink. Afterwards we found our new friends sitting at the hookah bar and I had to get a shot of the graffiti. The lighting coming off the building made it fairly easy to get the shot that I wanted. I would have liked to have exposed more of the wall, but it was just too dark. Part of that is me not liking to use the flash on my camera body though. I don’t have any external lighting, and I just don’t like the way most shots I’ve taken with the flash come out.
